Q. How long does a swimming pool remodel take from start to finish?
A. The length of time to complete your remodeling project really depends on the scope of work being performed. If your desire is to replace your coping, tile, and plaster, you can typically expect your swimming pool and spa remodel to be complete within two weeks or less. However, if your vision includes remodeling your swimming pool and your entire back yard with new concrete decking, plumbing, and equipment, then the job could take several weeks to complete. Q. When is the best time to remodel my swimming pool and spa?
A. We have found the answer to this question to be different depending on the situation. For example, some of our clients are more concerned with the length of time it will take to complete their swimming pool remodel. Others are not as concerned with completion time, but more concerned with the overall cost of the project.

So, if your concern is on the price we will phrase your question like this..."Is it less expensive to remodel a swimming pool in the winter?" Well, at Ultimate Pool Remodeling, we strive to give our clients a fair and competitive price throughout the entire year. Because of the constant increase of cost for construction materials, the price of remodeling a swimming pool does not decrease. Because of this, we recommend that you carefully evaluate your spending options and then inquire of a few different licensed and insured pool remodeling companies (one of them being Ultimate Pool Remodeling, of course). Once you have received your quotes on your project, then hire the company you feel most comfortable with. Because of rising costs, the sooner you start your swimming pool remodeling project the better. Contact us today for a free quote!

Now, if you are more concerned with the length of time it will take to complete your project, then the time of the year may have some impact on your decision. Typically, everyone wants to get their pool fixed before the summer heat, so the busy months in the swimming pool remodeling industry usually fall within Spring to Summer. However, just because it is the "busy" time of the year, your project may still be able to be completed in a timely manner. Your best bet is to contact us and ask how soon we can start and finish your particular project. Call us today for a free estimate!

Replastering Top
Q. When should I replaster my swimming pool and/or spa?
A. Since the process of replastering involves chipping out the old plaster to the gunite, most swimming pools and/or spas are replastered after the existing pool finish has shown wear from aging.

Typical signs of aged plaster include roughness, discoloration, and delamination.

These symptoms may occur on the swimming pool and spa finish as early as 10 years of age, depending on the quality of the finish initially applied to the surface.

Swimming Pool Plumbing Top
Q. When should I replace the plumbing to my swimming pool and spa?
A. If you are considering replacing your pool deck, it is highly recommended that you also consider replumbing your swimming pool and spa. Once your old pool deck is removed, the ground will then be exposed and this is a perfect time to upgrade your old copper lines to new pvc plumbing.

Even if you are not replacing your deck, we can still replace the plumbing to your swimming pool and spa. We can just sawcut your existing deck to access the ground, dig trenches, and install the new plumbing. Although we will repour concrete in the areas that we sawcut and trench, the new concrete will not match the existing concrete.

Of course not every swimming pool is the same, so contact us today for a more detailed explanation specific to your needs.

Q. I have a leak in my swimming pool. Is it coming from my swimming pool and spa plumbing?
A. We recommend that you contact a professional leak detection company to assess your pool leaking situation.

However, in our experience, many pool leaks have been traced back to the swimming pool plumbing, particularly, originating at the skimmer or a leaky pump. Just pop the lid off the skimmer. If you notice a crack in the skimmer housing, there is a good chance you might be losing water there.

However, we are not leak detection specialists, so it is recommended that you contact a professional leak detection company. This way you can isolate the location of the leak, and then we can help you out!
